The Benefits of Boredom: Why You Should Embrace It

When was the last time you got bored?

When was the last time you got bored and decided to do something different?

Something different…

That’s right! Something different that may turn into the next chapter in your life…

Life is all about bets and what I have experienced and observed is, most of those “successful “ bets are made when you got bored.

Getting bored creates creativity.

Creativity means opportunity.

Opportunity means the next chapter in your life.

Quick question, do you have enough time on your calendar to get bored?

By the way, how do you get bored? By doing nothing, right? But is it possible to get bored “enough“ in the same environment that you do other stuff?

For me, the answer is no. In order to get bored, I need to be in a completely different environment. And by environment, I don’t necessarily mean physical space. I’m talking about the people, the ideas, the objects around me.

For example, I can’t get bored when I’m around my family or close friends because we’re always talking and doing something.

And even if we’re just watching TV, we’re still interacting with each other. But I can get bored when I’m alone in my room or walking on the streets of a different city with nothing to do.

That’s when I start to get creative and come up with new ideas.

So, if you want to get bored and be more creative, try doing something completely different.

Go to a new place, meet new people, and expose yourself to new ideas.

And who knows, maybe the next chapter in your life will begin with a little boredom.

Open up space on your calendar to your boredom.
